How to care for Pomeranian fur?

Share:

Pomeranian is a small companion dog that is gaining more and more popularity. This cute micro-spitz is the perfect companion for the whole family that attracts fans with its irresistible charm. Its secret is an intensely fluffy coat which makes the dog look like a cloud fluttering over the ground. However, in order to fully enjoy the beauty of a pet of this breed, it should be cared for with due care.

Before you get your dog wet…

Proper care of a pomeranian dog should begin with cutting the dog’s claws. Keeping track of their length allows you to maintain the correct position of the dog’s paw and does not lead to curvature of its bones. It is also worth checking the condition of your pet’s ears and cleaning them gently if necessary. Before we go to the bath, it is worth blowing the hair with a stream of air. This will allow you to get rid of dead hair, as well as dried soil lumps and dust. At this stage, we can use a brush to get rid of any tangles and stuck hair. They can be found especially in places where the coat is slightly longer. These are usually areas around the ears, pants, tail and abdomen. At this stage, therefore, we will need various types of brushes and combs to help find each place that needs intervention.

Pomeranian in the bath

When the pomeranian’s fur is untangled, the water will be able to get into all places much easier, which will result in a more effective bath and a better final results. At this stage, it is worth using the best quality care cosmetics for dogs. Thanks to the appropriate shampoo in combination with the conditioner, the Pomeranian fur will show its full glory. For a pomeranian we especially recommend concentrated products based on natural ingredients – La Mafiq Volumizing Shampoo with Wild Oats Extract.

  • Adds volume. Lifts the hair from the root without puffing it up.
  • Wild oats extract revitalises and strengthens the coat structure. Nourishes dry and damaged hair.
  • Hydrolyzed wheat protein increases the volume of the hair, strengthens and nourishes.
  • Allantoin soothes irritated skin.

For a top of the arts finish give your dog a silky soft coat thanks to La Mafiq Deep Conditioner with Avocado Oil  with a unique combination of avocado oil and vitamin E. Avocado oil is one of the few that does not settle on the coat, but it gets absorbed into the hair shaft. Thanks to this feature, it does not give greasiness but pure silky softness.

Finally, the fur should be completely shiny, light and almost floating in the wind. The entire garment should move and float with the dog’s movement, giving the impression of a gently flowing wave.It requires thorough brushing of the dog after bathing, but it is definitely worth the effort.

The Pomeranian is in the details

In order for the Pomeranian to delight with its appearance 100%, you should pay attention to a few more important (though small as the dog itself) issues. Use small, sharp scissors to trim the hair on tips of the ears so that the shape of the ear has a round tip. It is the ears that make this dog’s face look like a teddy bear for many people! Then you need to carefully trim the fur on the dog’s hind legs. We recommend using a professional razor for this treatment. If our Pomeranian has long hair growing from between its toes, it should also be trimmed gently and regularly. As a result, the dog’s feet should be rounded, natural-looking, with properly arched toes. Finally, it is worth considering whether the dog has problems with frequent staining of the fur under the tail.If so, it is worth trimming the back area to make the coat a bit shorter and easier for daily care. However, we should remember to perform this step very delicately, leaving the hair as long as possible.Otherwise, too short, stiff hair can sting your dog, causing him discomfort and irritation.
