Why does your dog squeal and lash out?

Share:

Owning a dog is a great pleasure, but also a great responsibility. The key to building a lasting and pleasant relationship with a dog is to establish a few rules of coexistence. These rules are good to introduce from the very beginning. Our beloved dogs can train their owner beautifully. I know dogs which bark and get a sandwich or get scratched behind the ear. Do you know that this behaviour is really bad for the owner and not for the dog?

Why does the dog squeal?

If we are lying peacefully and our dog starts to squeal, growl or bite, he brings toys. He does everything to get your attention, it is a sign that something is happening:) What is more, dogs do it really effectively. Fortunately people, as primates, are smarter and can teach the extortionist to behave politely. The basis of raising a polite companion is consistency and ignoring bad behaviour while rewarding good behaviour. That’s it in a telegraphic nutshell, but what exactly should you do when a dog is being extorted?

Why does the dog squeal – how not to react?

The simplest thing is not to pay attention to him. It is best to wait until the animal calms down. I assure you that the dog will change its behaviour within a few minutes, provided that we do not react to its acts of terrorism.

Dogs learn by association, by trial and error. They always do what works better for them, if they notice that after they start squealing they get a biscuit as part of their therapy – I will do that more often!

Dog behaviour, how to live in harmony with a dog?

It is the owner who decides when it is the end of playing, cuddling, stroking. It is worth introducing a command ending the play. The easiest way is to scatter treats around the room. It is worth remembering how many we have scattered. If the dog collects all the treats, we give a command indicating the end of the game. In training Rico, I use a simple word – no more! After giving this command, I pay no attention to the dog and walk away. The dog will quickly understand that gone means that the game is over.
It is the owner who decides when it is time to cuddle, play and feed. It is necessary to teach the dog that when it is polite, sits or lies down calmly then it gets the best reward – our attention!
We never reward a dog that is misbehaving. In training your dog, rewarding it at the right time is the key to SUCCESS.

It is important to always use the same word that marks the end of our attention.
When we come home remember that we are greeting a polite dog. If your pet is enthusiastic and, for example, jumps. Wait until it calms down and then greet it.

Why does the dog squeal?

Because this behaviour is forcing your attention. Look, the dog is squealing, what do you do? Of course – you take care of him. In this way, you unintentionally teach him that you will always be at his beck and call. Then the dog may not be able to cope when you go to work or get ill. It is worth showing the dog that we are not always available for it, so the animal will learn to relax and will be calmer. Following these few rules will allow your dog to be a happy pet and will provide you with a wonderful companion for years.
